Training, Education & Safety

Keeping the nearly 5,000 employees of Georgia's 42 EMCs safe on the job and their job performance at its best is the goal of Georgia EMC's Training, Education & Safety Department. To do so, we provide and conduct a comprehensive curriculum of training programs year round. Feel free to contact our staff with any questions.

Training Courses & Programs

We also offer collaborative training services to neighboring power companies and associations - such as our industry-recognized Line Worker Apprenticeship Program. For more details, please call our toll−free number at 800−226−6324.

Georgia's EMCs also actively participate in the annual Georgia Lineman's Rodeo which tests and showcases the complex nature of electric line worker skills.

Safety & Disaster Response

Georgia EMC's seasoned Safety & Training staff also provides coordination for:

  • Statewide EMC Disaster Response Plan
  • NRECA's Safety Accreditation Program within member EMCs
  • Monthly safety meetings at member EMCs

Our fully equipped training center complex is located about 80 miles south of Atlanta. Take Interstate 75 to exit 181. Go west about a half mile. We're on the left.
